What You’ll Need to Bring
Be prepared to bring the following items on your first day of training.

You must have the following important documents with you:
  1. Valid United States driver’s license.
  2. Valid social security card. In order to be valid the card must be in original and good condition. It cannot be laminated or be a photocopy.
  3. Acceptable immigration documentation if you are not a U.S. citizen.
  4. Any employment documentation required to complete the CRST driver application (i.e. unemployment records, tax forms for self-employment, notarized letters, etc.).
  5. Voided check for transfer to your bank account, if you want to enroll in direct payroll transfer.

We suggest you bring the following personal items with you:
  1. 7 or more days of clothes including jeans, sweats, short- and long-sleeve shirts, coat, winter clothing if necessary.
  2. Work boots or treaded hiking shoes. Sandals, flip flops, cowboy boots, and smooth-bottom shoes are not allowed!
  3. Work gloves, hat, sunglasses, battery-powered alarm clock & flashlight.
  4. Personal toiletries needed for your time in the truck.
  5. Bedding for the truck including sleeping bag, pillows, blankets, twin size sheets, and wash cloths/towels.
  6. Notebook, pen, etc.
  7. Motor carrier atlas, truck stop guide, and calculator.
  8. Medications, if you are currently taking any.
  9. Bus or rental car confirmation number.
  10. Money for personal items. This would include laundry, evening and weekend meals, and any other items you need to purchase while in training.
  11. Do not bring tools!

What to expect and how to prepare:
  1. Transportation: If necessary, your CRST recruiter will order a bus ticket or rental car. If you plan on providing your own transportation, please contact your recruiter for directions. Those who leave the program are responsible for their own transportation.
  2. English Language: Drivers must be able to read, write, and understand English.
  3. Foreign-Born Applicants: Apart from proper documentation, your INS card must be current and cannot expire for at least six months.
  4. Team Driving: CRST drives in teams only.
  5. Hometime Policy: One day off for each week you are on the road with a maximum of four days off with the truck. You will be expected to be away from home for 3-4 weeks at a time. *Hometime varies based on division and route types.
  6. Money: Enough to cover meals outside of what the onboarding site provides, plus personal expenses.
  7. Alcohol: We have a ZERO tolerance policy toward the use of alcohol anytime and anywhere while training or working.
  8.  DOT Physical exam, DOT drug screen, and an agility test will be done on the first day.
  9. 20% of your time will spent in a classroom and 80% will be spent driving.
  10. Expect to be busy Monday-Friday and possibly weekends, depending on your training location

Rental guidelines for drivers
  1. Fuel – All rentals must be turned in with a full gas tank. Keep gas receipts for reimbursement.
  2. Turn all rentals in on date provided in car rental confirmation email.
  3. No ordering extras (ex. Vehicle upgrade, GPS, Insurance, etc.)
  4. Tolls – Keep receipts for reimbursement.
  5. No smoking in any rental.
  6. Any extra charges will be billed back to driver.

  • WHERE IS ONBOARDING HELD IN MABLETON, GA?
    Onboarding is held at the CRST Lincoln Sales Facility. The main building is at 7030 Queens Ferry Pl SE, Mableton, GA 30126.
  • WHAT IF I ARRIVE IN MABLETON BY BUS?
    Call Cascade Cab 404-758-5521 and provide Name and Account Code: CA0106 for a ride to the hotel.
  • WHAT IF I ARRIVE IN MABLETON BY RENTAL CAR?
    Please return the car with a full tank of gas to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Save the rental car return receipt and all fuel receipts. Call Cascade Cab 404-758-5521 and provide your name and account code: CA0106, for a ride to the hotel.
  • WHAT DO I DO IF MY LUGGAGE WAS LOST?
    If your luggage was lost on the bus, please follow the steps on the Lost Luggage Procedure document.
  • WHAT TIME DOES ONBOARDING START?
    Onboarding starts at 7 a.m. A shuttle will pick up drivers from hotels beginning at 6:30 a.m. and ending at 6:45 a.m. Drivers must be outside the hotel no later than 6:45am in order to catch the shuttle to campus. If you live locally and drive, please park at the main campus building and follow the pad around to the CTD side of campus.
  • HOW MUCH MONEY DO I NEED TO BRING TO ONBOARDING?
    Bring enough money to cover your evening meals and personal expenses for the length of your stay.
  • WHERE DO I EAT DURING ONBOARDING?
    The hotel offers breakfast and lunch is provided at onboarding, but you are responsible for providing yourself with dinner. There are restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
  • DO I GO HOME AFTER ONBOARDING?
    No. You’ll be on the road for approximately 28 days after onboarding.
  • WHO DO I CONTACT IF I HAVE A QUESTION?
    Please contact your recruiter with any additional questions. If your recruiter is unavailable, contact your onboarding site.
  • WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO BE HIRED?
    At the end of onboarding – 2 days.
